“ElQuirin, what does that mean? Is that Spanish? “

We sometimes get this question from clients. When we were looking for a name for our joint therapy practice, we reviewed all kinds of profound names. Until Louis came up with the proposal for ElQuirin:

El – from Ellen’s first name

Quirin – short for Quirinius, the Latin name for Louis’ surname Crijns.

And so it became ElQuirin, a name that means nothing but a name that many people know.

Ellen de Jong

In my practice I receive people with very different themes and problems, such as a lack of self-confidence, fear of failure, unresolved traumatic experiences, depressive feelings, dealing with loss (of loved ones but also, for example, of work or health). Often the problem has been going on for some time and it is important to look back with the help of Inner Child Therapy and Regression Therapy to let go of unprocessed emotions and to find new solutions, an approach to therapy where my heart lies.

Hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) came my way when I found working with people more and more exciting and challenging. In positions such as project manager and university lecturer I came into contact more and more with “people in their development”. From 1992 I followed various courses in this field with great pleasure and interest.

To qualify as a therapist I obtained the diploma of the Hypnotherapy training from BGL & partners. I then completed the Inner Child Integration Therapy training with the American psychologist / therapist Trisha Caetano (www.trishacaetano.com). In 2002 I obtained the European Certificate for Psychotherapy (ECP®). The European Association for Psychotherapy (www.europsyche.org) uses the ECP as the European quality mark for psychotherapy, a hallmark of evidence-based expertise, professionalism and integrity. Furthermore, after following the NLP Practitioner and Master course, I also completed the NLP trainer course.

As a therapist I am affiliated with the NVPA – Professional association for specialized psychosocial therapists. This professional association guarantees the quality of the affiliated therapist members. I am also affiliated with the Nederlands Verbond voor ECP-houders and I am registered in the Register Beroepsbeoefenaren Complementaire Zorg (Register Professional Practitioners Complementary Care).

I have years of experience in guiding people with very diverse problems. Because I work a lot with Inner Child Therapy, there are often clients who were abused as a child, were emotionally neglected or who lost one of their parents as a child. I also work with problems in relationships, with stress / burnout and depressive complaints.

I graduated from the Free University in Amsterdam in Social Psychology as a psychologist / researcher. During my work as a university lecturer of Psychology at a department Social Work discovered how fascinating it is to be involved with my profession in a practical way. This is where the idea began to sprout to start my own therapy practice.

To qualify as a therapist I did three therapy courses in the nineties of the last century, namely Regression & Reincarnation Therapy at the SRN (School for Reincarnation Therapy), Inner Child Integration Therapy at Trisha Caetano and Hypnotherapy at BGL & partners. My therapy practice started in 1993. Over the years I have seen my practice grow and with it my own experience as a therapist.

All my life I have continued to appreciate developments in psychology and research as interesting. I have kept up with these developments I think that our knowledge and skills as psychologists have increased spectacularly in recent decades. I am thinking of issues such as the development of cognitive psychology and Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) and of the still growing knowledge of brain and consciousness.

As a registered therapist I am affiliated with the NBVH – Nederlandse beroepsorganisatie van Hypnotherapeuten. This professional association guarantees the quality of the affiliated therapist members. I am registered in the Register Beroepsbeoefenaren Complementaire Zorg (Register Professional Practitioners Complementary Care).

Summer 2021 we decided to stop this traning.
